A government doctor and his wife in Jammu and Kashmir have been detained by the Counter Intelligence Wing for allegedly misusing their positions to further unlawful activities, including the radicalization of local women, authorities report.
On Tuesday, coordinated searches were conducted across four locations in Srinagar, Kulgam, and Anantnag. The action is part of an extensive crackdown against social media abusers working with cross-border handlers to support terrorist agendas, officials confirmed.
Devices seized during the searches, including mobile phones and SIM cards, are undergoing forensic analysis. The investigation is expected to reveal a broader digital propaganda network. Early findings suggest an organized effort to spread extremist content and manipulate public perception, the agency stated.
