In a bid to modernize processes and enhance convenience for the citizens, Jammu Police will soon launch an online portal dedicated to tenant verification, as announced by a senior official on Tuesday.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu, Joginder Singh, informed that the existing manual procedure often burdens tenants and landlords, requiring them to physically visit police stations. "Our goal is to eliminate this hassle by introducing a user-friendly online system for tenant verification," Singh explained.

The SSP emphasized that this initiative is aligned with routine checks conducted by the police throughout the year and is not a reaction to any recent incidents. Meanwhile, in response to the rising misinformation on social media, the police have petitioned the government to establish regulations to mitigate the spread of fake news.
