The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of Punjab Police has made a significant breakthrough in its campaign against drug trafficking. On Saturday, officials reported the recovery of 50 kg of heroin, following the dismantling of a major trans-border smuggling network.
Sandeep Singh, known as Seepa, from Kapurthala district, was apprehended in connection with the find. The operation reflects a strategic victory in the ongoing war against drugs, according to Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav. The heroin, sourced through Pakistan-based ISI-supported channels, was intercepted following an intelligence-led operation.
Yadav mentioned that Sandeep Singh was already implicated in five other drug-related cases and had been on bail. Authorities are actively investigating both forward and backward connections in the drug trafficking network.
