The shop owner, identified as 22-year-old Anas, claimed that relentless police harassment drove him to attempt suicide by self-immolation on November 19. A video of the incident circulated widely on social media, prompting swift action from law enforcement authorities.
Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar ordered the suspensions after a preliminary inquiry into the allegations. Anas is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Delhi, and further investigations are underway to determine the extent of the alleged misconduct.
