The Delhi Police have apprehended Parmjeet Singh, a 28-year-old native of Punjab, accused of stealing jewellery from a relative's home in west Delhi's Uttam Nagar area, according to an official statement released on Monday.

Investigators acted after an e-FIR filed by complainant Manjinder Kaur on November 9. Kaur reported missing jewellery, prompting a probe that revealed no forced entry and hinted at an insider's involvement. CCTV footage was scrutinized, yet no conclusive evidence emerged, raising suspicions about those personally known to the family.

Singh, who had stayed with the family, was interrogated as part of the investigation. Initially misleading police by posing as a sub-inspector without an identity card, his inconsistent accounts led to his confession. He admitted to the theft, claiming involvement in sales of old cars. The investigation remains active.
