In a notable verdict, a District and Sessions court has handed life sentences to five members of a single family for their roles in a murder nearly two decades ago.
The decision was delivered by Judge Arvind Malik, who, on Thursday, also imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 on each of the convicts.
The case revolves around the murder of Omkar Nath Pandey, who succumbed to his injuries after being beaten with sticks due to a protracted personal dispute in Kharja village back in May 2006.
