In a bizarre incident in Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich district, a local man found himself trapped inside a cage meant for capturing leopards. Officials reported the occurrence on Friday.
The incident unfolded on Thursday night in Umri Dehalo village when Pradeep, allegedly intoxicated, entered the trap and became ensnared as the automatic door closed behind him. Stranded, he called for assistance, reaching out to nearby villagers with his phone.
A collaborative response by the forest department and police extricated Pradeep after almost two hours. Divisional Forest Officer Ram Singh Yadav indicated that alcohol influenced Pradeep's decision, cautioning about the dangers of wandering into designated wildlife zones, especially at night when leopards are most active.
