A court denied Satyaki Savarkar's request to play a YouTube video claiming Rahul Gandhi defamed freedom-fighter V D Savarkar. The court also rejected another CD due to lack of evidence. Satyaki, V D Savarkar's grand-nephew, disputes claims Gandhi made in a 2023 speech in London.

A court in India has dismissed Satyaki Savarkar's attempts to play a YouTube video allegedly containing defamatory remarks made by Rahul Gandhi about V D Savarkar. This decision represents another hurdle in a case involving a controversial 2023 speech in London.

The special court for cases involving MPs and MLAs also turned down an application by Satyaki, the grand-nephew of V D Savarkar, to play an additional CD that was reportedly provided as evidence. The judge highlighted that the required CD could not be found in the court's records.

Questions arose during Satyaki's examination-in-chief when a CD provided as evidence appeared to contain no data. Satyaki's legal representative has requested a judicial inquiry into the 'blank CD' and the unaccounted additional CD, as earlier submissions were reportedly functional.
