A tragic fire claimed the life of a 60-year-old man in Aliapur village within the Kant area, authorities reported on Saturday.
The deceased, identified as Rampal Srivastava, had been sleeping alone in a hut outside his home on Friday night when it inexplicably caught fire, explained Superintendent of Police, Rajesh Dwivedi.
Family members, who were inside the main house, realized the emergency too late and could not rescue Srivastava as the blaze rapidly consumed the small structure. A post mortem has been ordered, and police investigations are ongoing to determine the fire's origin.
