A legal storm has brewed in Indore as a lawyer lodged a complaint against Santosh Verma, the newly-appointed president of Madhya Pradesh's AJAKS and an IAS officer, for making allegedly derogatory comments against the Brahmin community.
Lawyer Shailendra Dwivedi, expressing personal hurt, took the matter to the Judicial Magistrate First Class court, which is set to hear his arguments in December.
The controversy, originating from an AJAKS event in Bhopal, prompted a show-cause notice to Verma. While he claimed his remarks were misrepresented, Verma apologized if any community was offended.
