The Delhi government is set to introduce an Aadhaar vault aimed at safeguarding crucial personal details provided by citizens for various schemes. This initiative, led by the Information and Technology Department, follows directives from the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), according to officials.

The National Informatics Centre (NIC) has successfully tested the vault on a staging server. A senior government official highlighted the need for such a secure system to protect Aadhaar numbers required for online applications in Delhi's schemes and services.

Delhi's IT Minister Pankaj Singh recently assessed the project's progress, urging a swift completion. This vault not only boosts data protection but also supports secure integration with e-governance, minimizing Aadhaar data misuse.
