In a dramatic turn of events, Delhi Police apprehended Rohit alias Macchhi for reportedly snatching a mobile phone, an act driven by intentions of purchasing a pricey anniversary gift for his wife. Rohit, famously known for his criminal activities, had a history with 22 prior cases of robbery and snatching, as per police reports.
His accomplice, Arjun Sareen, was the first to fall into legal hands after the complainant utilized technology to track the stolen device. The incident unraveled on an ordinary Sunday morning as cyclist Ronit Karati found himself targeted near a local sweets shop along Old Rohtak Road. In a chase that echoed through the neighborhood, Karati ultimately located his phone at Pratap Nagar metro station. There, a confrontation ensued leading to Sareen's detention while Rohit temporarily evaded capture.
The police investigation revealed Rohit's desperate motives behind the crime. Aspiring to finance an expensive gift for his marital festivities, he turned to crime. Further examination unearthed more; both individuals attempted to escape detection by camouflaging their motorcycle's license plate. Despite a temporary hideout near Kishan Ganj railway tracks, Rohit's criminal pursuits were thwarted late Sunday night as authorities successfully apprehended him, recovering the stolen phone along the way.
