The Supreme Court on Monday mandated that the Maharashtra government ensure proper functioning of virtual conferencing (VC) in the ongoing 2016 Gadchiroli arson case where advocate Surendra Gadling is implicated.

This decision follows senior advocate Anand Grover's complaint, representing Gadling, about dysfunctional VC facilities during proceedings.

Additional Solicitor General S V Raju noted an existing application concerning the Bhima Koregaon case records is pending. Gadling has been urged to submit a reply within a week, with further hearings set for January 2026.
