In a scathing criticism, senior YSRCP leader A Rambabu alleged that the Andhra Pradesh government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, has been undermining the Polavaram project for personal gains. Rambabu accuses Naidu of turning the project, deemed as the state's lifeline, into an 'endless saga' due to several faulty and selfish decisions.
The former minister claims that the Chief Minister treats the Polavaram project like an ATM, pushing it into disarray through poor execution. He alleges that essential components like cofferdams and spillways were neglected during Naidu's previous tenure, leading to structural failures and significant losses. Moreover, Rambabu argues that despite the Union Jal Shakti Ministry's proposal to release over Rs 12,200 crore, the central government's alleged favoritism towards the NDA has effectively downgraded the project.
Further criticizing Naidu and IT Minister Nara Lokesh, Rambabu targeted them for their 'theatrics' in government schools. He accused the current administration of failing to improve educational institutions and for halting beneficial programs initiated by the previous government. As political tensions rise, Rambabu vows to continue advocating for the project's success and calls for mass mobilization to ensure justice.
