Four individuals have been apprehended following the seizure of counterfeit currency with a face value totaling Rs 1.12 lakh in Naharlagun, Arunachal Pradesh, according to a senior official.
This development comes after an investigation was launched when two suspects attempted to purchase groceries with fake Rs 500 notes in the Polo Colony area.
Superintendent of Police Nyelam Nega reported that acting on a lead, a series of raids were conducted, resulting in arrests and the seizure of 224 counterfeit notes. The police urge the public to remain vigilant, especially amidst local elections.
