In Jharkhand's Chatra district, police apprehended a notorious gangster, Zubair Ansari, after a brief encounter on Saturday. The arrest was confirmed by senior law enforcement officials.
Ansari, a 21-year-old member of the infamous Rahul Singh gang, was caught after police launched a targeted vehicle-checking operation in the Piparwar area, based on a reliable tip-off.
During the encounter, three individuals on a motorcycle fired at the police near Karo Maidan and attempted to flee. Police retaliated, injuring Ansari in the leg. He was subsequently captured, while his accomplices escaped. Ansari, wanted in 13 cases, is undergoing treatment, and authorities recovered a pistol from him. The gang is implicated in extorting coal businessmen in various Jharkhand districts.
