In Madhya Pradesh, the suspension of excise official Mandakini Dixit has stirred significant controversy, following allegations made by liquor contractor Dinesh Makwana. The accusations, claiming Dixit drove Makwana to suicide through demands for bribes, were deemed serious enough by the commercial tax department to warrant immediate action.
Makwana, who operated five liquor shops in Dewas district, alleged in a video that Dixit demanded monthly bribes and obstructed his operations until payments were made. Despite these serious allegations, no First Information Report has been lodged, while the police investigation continues.
Dixit has strongly denied these charges, accusing Makwana's family of blackmail and insisting that the allegations were fabricated. The situation has escalated tensions within the district, and the outcome of the official investigation remains keenly awaited.
