Bihar's Digital Leap: New Portal for Crime Tracking and Citizen Services

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has unveiled the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) portal to streamline online police services for citizens. The initiative aims to elevate coordination between law enforcement and the public while reducing the frequency of police station visits.
During a review meeting at the Bihar police headquarters, Choudhary outlined several directives to bolster the state's law-and-order framework. These include rapid legal action against illegal mining, strategies to prevent examination question leaks, and beefed-up cybercrime prevention measures through enhanced collaboration with central agencies.
Choudhary called for prompt emergency responses, increased police presence near educational institutions, and improved prison management. Additionally, the state introduced the Abhay Brigade, a task force dedicated to safeguarding women in various public settings.
