A Delhi Motor Accident Claims Tribunal has granted a compensation of Rs 64.71 lakh to the family of Jagdish Prakash, a 37-year-old gardener who died in a road accident in R K Puram.
The tribunal, presided over by Dr. Shirish Aggarwal, settled the claim following a petition by Prakash's family, asserting that he succumbed to injuries after his bicycle was struck by a car on January 24, 2020.
The ruling, dated November 21, indicated that the accident resulted from negligent driving, establishing the case on the preponderance of probabilities. Notably, the offending vehicle was uninsured, prompting full liability on the driver and owner.
