Uttarakhand's Progress: Road Transfers, State Fairs, and Cultural Preservation

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced significant developments in infrastructure and cultural identity during a public meeting. The process to transfer the Gwaldam-Dewal-Van motor road to the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) will soon commence after the conclusion of the Nanda Devi Raj Jat Yatra. This has been a long-standing demand of the locals, promising better quality maintenance and road safety.

Dhami further elevated the Amar Shaheed Sainik Mela in Savaad to a state fair, marking another milestone for local residents and ex-servicemen. To enhance sports facilities, the government approved the construction of two mini-stadiums in Talwari, Tharali, and Nandanagar.

The chief minister, hailing from a military family, emphasized the state's commitment to social challenges, including announcing that Uttarakhand had become the first state to implement a Uniform Civil Code (UCC) as part of preserving cultural identity. This, he claimed, demonstrates real action beyond promises.
