In a shocking development, four employees of the Haliyapur toll plaza on the Purvanchal Expressway have been dismissed and charged following accusations of circulating an intimate video of a newly-wed couple on social media. The police have described the incident as an extortion plot, leveraging the private footage for financial gain.
A complaint lodged by Sub-Inspector Raffan Khan led to the investigation of this grave breach of privacy. It is alleged that the toll plaza staff used expressway surveillance cameras to record the video, which was then disseminated to blackmail the couple. Swift action ensued, with the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority promptly removing four implicated employees: traffic manager Shashank Shekhar, system technician Ashutosh Tiwari, system engineer Pramod Kumar, and another unnamed staff member.
Authorities, including IG Praveen Kumar and Sultanpur SP Kunwar Anupam Singh, reviewed the case on-site, enforcing strict measures against the accused. Police have taken three into custody while efforts continue to apprehend the fourth suspect. "No accused will be spared," declared Circle Officer Ashutosh Kumar, underscoring the gravity of the investigation.
