Anakapalli's law enforcement achieved a significant milestone by returning 750 mobile phones, collectively valued at Rs 1.5 crore, to their rightful owners. The recovery operation spanned the last three months and highlighted the department's dedication to leveraging technology in solving theft cases.

Addressing the media, Superintendent of Police Tuhin Sinha emphasized the importance of these devices in daily life, containing sensitive personal and financial information. The recent recovery drive is the 11th such initiative undertaken since June 1, 2022, restoring over 4,000 phones worth nearly Rs 7 crore.

This year's efforts alone accounted for the recovery of 1,800 devices across Anakapalli and nearby states including Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, West Bengal, and Telangana. Victims are urged to utilize the CEIR portal or report via WhatsApp, expediting the stolen phone reporting process without needing to visit police stations.
