A village head in Uttar Pradesh's Bhadohi district has been arrested along with his relative for allegedly killing a whistleblower behind corruption charges, officials said Thursday.
Dhaskari village head Manish Yadav and Sujit Kumar were taken into custody for allegedly running over complainant Kamla Kant Dubey. This fatal incident followed Dubey's sworn complaint to District Magistrate Shailesh Kumar, accusing Yadav of misappropriating Rs 10 lakh under the MGNREGA scheme.
The Bhadohi Superintendent of Police, Abhimanyu Manglik, stated that this fatal episode was captured on CCTV, showing a car ramming Dubey outside his medical store. Legal proceedings are ongoing.
