Tehran Appeals to UN Amid Tightened U.S. Restrictions
Tehran has urged the United Nations to intervene against increased U.S. restrictions on Iran's diplomatic mission in New York. These restrictions have impacted the delegation's movements, bank accounts, and daily purchases, complicating regular diplomatic functions. Additionally, prior agreements allowing limited diplomatic movement have been curtailed due to heightened tensions.

Tehran has called for intervention from the United Nations concerning what it describes as heightened restrictions by the United States on Iran's diplomatic mission in New York. The Iranian foreign ministry released a statement condemning the U.S. decision to halt the activities of three employees at the mission.
The ministry highlighted that in September, the U.S. had imposed new strict limits on the Iranian delegation attending the U.N. General Assembly, greatly restricting their movement and access to stores. Tehran claims these tactics aim to interfere with the legal duties of its diplomats.
Before the latest measures, members had limited travel privileges between essential locations. The diplomatic tension follows failed nuclear negotiations between Iran and the U.S., which had escalated earlier with military engagements targeting nuclear sites.
