Vice President C P Radhakrishnan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi were at the forefront as tributes poured in for the heroes of the 2001 Parliament attack. This commemoration, marking the 24th anniversary, saw lawmakers gather to honor those who lost their lives defending the country's legislature.

The solemn ceremony, held outside the historic Parliament building known as Samvidhan Sadan, featured a salute performed by CISF personnel. A moment of silence was observed in memory of the courageous individuals who foiled the terrorist attack on December 13, 2001. Until 2023, the CRPF had been responsible for this tradition.

Among those present were Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, along with union ministers and other dignitaries. The attack, perpetrated by five terrorists, was effectively halted by the combined efforts of security forces, preventing any breach of the Parliament perimeter.
