In a significant breakthrough, Udhampur police arrested Geeta Devi, pegged as the mastermind of a narcotics trafficking network, on Sunday. Officials confirmed the arrest took place at Devi's rented home in Rajiv Nagar, Udhampur.
Geeta Devi, originally from Phagwara, Punjab, was identified as the 'narco kingpin' post the arrest of drug peddler Aditya Gupta. The arrest was made under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act on November 7.
Authorities are probing deeper into the network to discover both forward and backward linkages, aiming to dismantle and understand the full extent of the operations involved.
