YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the leader of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), declared their one-crore signature campaign as a 'historic and resounding public verdict' against the alleged privatization of government medical colleges in Andhra Pradesh under N Chandrababu Naidu's NDA government.
On Monday, significant rallies took place in all 26 district headquarters as part of this initiative, claiming participation from over one crore citizens. Jagan Mohan Reddy described the event as a powerful public stand against Naidu's policies, which he alleges are detrimental to the public interest.
The movement, according to Reddy, aims to prevent the dismantling of affordable medical education and healthcare. Plans are underway to present the signatures to the state's Governor in December, underlining the widespread opposition against the NDA's privatization policies.
