Dramatic Police Encounter Ends Capture of Notorious Gangster

A notorious gangster, Kamalakant Das alias Budhia, wanted in numerous criminal cases, was captured after a shootout with police in Odisha’s Bhadrak district. The six-member police team, acting on intelligence, confronted Kamalakant Das, known as Budhia, while he was traveling with accomplices on a motorcycle in the Malgodown area.

Superintendent of Police Manoj Rout stated that Budhia initiated the gunfire, prompting police to retaliate. Budhia was injured and captured, though one associate managed to escape. Authorities discovered a country-made firearm and ammunition in Budhia's possession.
