In a significant development, two brothers linked to a tragic nightclub fire in Goa have been remanded in police custody. Gaurav and Saurabh Luthra, co-owners of 'Birch by Romeo Lane', face charges following a blaze that resulted in 25 deaths.
Captured in Thailand after evading authorities, the Luthra brothers were brought to Goa from Delhi, undergoing health screenings before appearing in court. A plea for special treatment due to health issues was denied by Judicial Magistrate First Class Mapusa Puja Sardesai.
Lawyer Vishnu Joshi highlighted the gravity of the charges, equating the incident to mass genocide. More arrests, including five nightclub staff, have been made, as the investigation continues to unravel the tragic sequence of events.
