Turkey is set to strengthen NATO's air policing missions by deploying fighter jets to Estonia and Romania. The deployment will occur between August 2026 and March 2027, as announced by Turkey's defense ministry.
This initiative forms part of NATO's efforts to enhance defense capabilities amidst rising tensions, following Russian violations of allied airspace. Turkey has been a key contributor to these missions, previously operating in Poland and Romania.
Additionally, Turkey will host the next NATO summit in July, further underscoring its strategic role within the alliance's framework.
