Karti Chidambaram, a Congress MP, has approached the Delhi High Court to contest the corruption and conspiracy charges levied against him concerning a Chinese visa scam case. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) alleges that he facilitated visas for Chinese nationals working on a power project.

The case, examined by Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma, has its next hearing scheduled for January 19. Chidambaram argues the trial court overlooked critical evidence and insists there is no truth to claims of conspiracy or bribery he seeks to overturn the trial court's decision to formally charge him.

The CBI's chargesheet emerged after two years of investigation and implicates not only Karti but also his associate, TSPL, and other entities presumed involved in routing the bribes. The trial court found sufficient cause for proceeding with charges, which Chidambaram firmly refutes in his plea.
