Hyderabad was on edge after partial damage to a Plaster of Paris (PoP) idol at a temple led to heated protests and subsequent attacks on police officers. The incident occurred on Wednesday night at Puranapul Darwaza Mysamma temple, leading to increased tensions and the arrest of more than 300 involved.
The Kamatipura Police acted swiftly by registering two separate cases, focusing on the idol damage and the altercation with police forces. They have gathered crucial evidence, including CCTV footage, to track down and apprehend those responsible for escalating the situation.
Top city officials, including Joint Commissioner Tafseer Iqubal, called for calm, dismissing any rumors of further damage to temple sanctuaries and stressing that the situation remains under control. Political figures like AIMIM's Asaduddin Owaisi and BJP President N Ramchander Rao visited the site, urging for a thorough investigation.
