The controversy surrounding the death of an 18-year-old NEET student has intensified after her post-mortem report suggested sexual violence couldn't be ruled out, directly contradicting earlier police statements that denied such findings.

Earlier, police had announced that medical reports and CCTV footage confirmed no signs of sexual assault and alleged the victim consumed sleeping pills while suffering from typhoid. However, the family had consistently alleged assault, suspecting an official cover-up.

Public protests erupted following the post-mortem revelations, with NEET aspirants marching in Patna. The police arrested the hostel's building owner while political figures, including Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor, are expected to meet the bereaved family soon.
