President Droupadi Murmu's planned appearance at the Dr BR Ambedkar National Institute of Technology's convocation in Jalandhar was called off due to adverse weather conditions, according to an official report.
Murmu had already visited Amritsar on Thursday, where she addressed a convocation at the Guru Nanak Dev University.
The Jalandhar ceremony proceeded as scheduled, with Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria stepping in for Murmu and attending the event. The Punjab government later hosted a dinner in the president's honor, attended by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and other state officials.
