The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) demanded action from Punjab's Governor amid serious allegations concerning the safety of its leader, Bikram Singh Majithia, currently jailed on charges of disproportionate assets.
SAD leaders alleged that despite intelligence inputs indicating Majithia's life was in danger, the state government under AAP has failed to take the necessary precautions. They claim privacy violations and criticize the installation of additional surveillance cameras at Nabha Jail.
Simultaneously, SAD denounced alleged press suppression by accusing the Punjab government of unfairly targeting the Punjab Kesari Group through media raids, urging for the Governor's intervention in safeguarding press freedom and democracy.
