A Kerala court has denied bail to expelled Congress MLA Rahul Mamkootathil in connection with his third sexual assault case, in which he was arrested last week.
The Thiruvalla Judicial First Class Magistrate court's detailed order is still awaited. Previously, the Kerala High Court and a Thiruvananthapuram sessions court had granted protection from arrest to Mamkootathil in two separate sexual assault cases based on complaints from different women.
The latest charges involved rape and criminal intimidation, filed by a Kottayam native on January 8, leading to Mamkootathil's arrest on January 11 in Palakkad.
