Fallen Hero: Havildar Gajendra Singh's Supreme Sacrifice in Kishtwar

A brave paratrooper who succumbed to his injuries following a gunfight with terrorists has been mourned by military officials and his community. The gunfight occurred during a major operation in the upper reaches of Kishtwar district aimed at capturing terrorists believed to be hiding in the area.

The operation, named 'Operation Trashi-I,' was launched in Sonnar village and faced challenges due to steep terrain and limited visibility. It resulted in the injury of eight soldiers, primarily from a sudden grenade attack. Havildar Gajendra Singh, who was critically injured, died during treatment at a military hospital during the night.

A post on X paid tribute to Singh's sacrifice, while military officials highlighted the coordinated efforts of the army, police, and paramilitary forces as they intensified operations ahead of Republic Day to prevent terrorist activities driven by Pakistan-based handlers.
