Dramatic Capture: Man Arrested in Cow Slaughter Case

A man suspected of cow slaughter has been apprehended after a confrontation with police, officials announced Monday.
The individual, Mohammad Naushad Qureshi, aged 41 and from the Prayagraj district, was taken into custody in the Barsanda village area on Sunday night. Police seized an illegal pistol, ammunition, and a motorcycle while three accomplices evaded capture.
Additional SP (East) Shailendra Lal stated that the Delhupur police had previously filed charges against unknown individuals under the Uttar Pradesh Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act following the discovery of two cows' remains near a riverbank on January 16. The confrontation occurred during police checks when Qureshi fired at officers and was injured in the retaliatory gunfire. After his arrest and hospitalization, he confessed to slaughtering cattle three days prior. The hunt for his remaining associates continues.
