The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Monday confirmed that it had filed a report regarding an 'off-duty misconduct' by an Air India Express pilot accused of assaulting a passenger at Delhi airport last December.
CISF Director General Praveer Ranjan stated that the force had promptly informed local police following the incident and submitted a misconduct report to the airline. The pilot, who was arrested and later released on bail, has been suspended from duties pending an internal probe by the airline.
According to passenger Ankit Dewan, the pilot, Virender Sejwal, physically assaulted him near Terminal 1, causing injuries, and traumatizing his young daughter. The CISF oversees security at over 70 airports nationwide, ensuring passenger safety.
