A tragic case of suspected honour killing has surfaced as a young couple, missing for three days, were found buried in a field near the Neem Karoli Baba temple, officials reported on Thursday.
The victims, Kajal, a student and teacher, and her partner Arman, both in their 20s, were allegedly killed by Kajal's family members. Their concealed bodies were discovered in a pit on Wednesday night following a police investigation.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police Satpal Antil, Kajal's brothers confessed to the crime. A further probe is underway, given the different community backgrounds of the victims, which has prompted the deployment of additional police forces to prevent potential tensions.
