The Jhalawar Police have intensified 'Operation Clean Ride', leading to the arrest of seven individuals involved in a wide-reaching fraud within the Rajasthan Roadways. The discovery highlights massive corruption in the Free Examination Travel Scheme, designed to provide free travel for exam candidates.
Authorities revealed that several contractual bus staff manipulated the scheme by recording a majority of their generated revenue as free travel tickets and then pocketing the collected fares. Investigations show that less than half of the actual revenue reached the Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC).
As the probe continues, officials are scrutinizing the roles of permanent conductors and RSRTC staff. The operation, involving special cyber teams and police forces, aims to uncover the total financial loss and broader culpability in this systematic scam.
