Chief Justice of India (CJI) Surya Kant recently completed an official trip to France aimed at bolstering judicial cooperation between the two nations. During his visit to Paris, he met with high-ranking judicial officials to discuss enhancing judicial exchanges and cooperation.

The meetings included discussions with Richard Ferrand, president of the French Constitutional Council, where dialogues focused on judicial training and the adoption of technology. Both parties prioritized the exchange of best practices to improve justice delivery mechanisms in their respective jurisdictions.

Justice Kant also addressed the Indo-French General Counsel and Business Conference, spotlighting the Indo–France Year of Innovation 2026 and emphasizing the increasing significance of Alternative Dispute Resolution in India. He stressed the enduring bond between France and India, noting its role as a stabilizing force amid global uncertainties.
