Supreme Court Permits Video Conferencing Amid Traffic Concerns During AI Summit

The Supreme Court has announced that lawyers can opt to appear through video conferencing between February 16 and 20. This decision comes as a response to potential traffic congestion during the AI Impact Summit at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.

On account of the request by the Supreme Court Bar Association, the apex court has issued a circular permitting this virtual option. The event is expected to draw thousands of delegates from over 30 countries, causing concern over significant traffic disruption around the court precincts.

In preparation, over 10,000 police officers will be deployed to ensure security. All court benches will function in a hybrid mode, allowing flexibility for those who face commuting challenges. Relevant video conferencing links will be shared with advocates.
