An elderly man, identified as 65-year-old Ram Tej, was discovered dead near his home in Mirapur village on Saturday, police reported. His body was located in a pool of blood near a boundary wall behind the property.

Villagers noticed traces of blood and found the body, subsequently alerting the police. According to Circle Officer Saurabh Samant, investigations revealed the house door was locked from the inside, prompting police to break it open. Blood spots were found nearby, along with an axe and a brick.

A 45-year-old woman living with the deceased has been detained for questioning. Villagers suspect the woman's mental instability as a factor. Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Ram Tej's death.
