Police Crack Down on Narcotics: Property Seized in J&K

In Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district, police have seized a residential property linked to drug peddler Sartaj Ahmad Ganie, valued over Rs 26 lakh. The property, acquired through illegal drug profits, was confiscated as part of efforts to curb narcotics activities, following proper legal protocols.

In a significant move to combat narcotics-related activities, Jammu and Kashmir Police have seized a residential house in Shopian district associated with an alleged drug peddler. The property, valued at over Rs 26 lakh, belongs to Sartaj Ahmad Ganie of Memander Shopian. Authorities stated that the house was acquired using funds obtained from illegal drug sales.

The accused, Sartaj Ahmad Ganie, has been involved in multiple cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, police revealed. The legal attachment of the property was executed in the presence of a police team, Executive Magistrate, and local representatives, adhering to all legal requirements.

This operation underscores the ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to dismantle the financial underpinnings of the narcotics trade in the region. It reflects the government's determination to curb drug-related activities and send a strong message against illegal narcotics operations.
