A sevayat from the Banke Bihari temple in Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh, has been arrested following an alleged assault on a retired honorary captain of the Indian Army. The incident reportedly took place when the retired officer, Kushendra Yadav, had come to the temple with his family to offer prayers.
Police have disclosed that Yadav intervened in a disagreement between a temple goswami and another man. This intervention allegedly angered the sevayat, identified as Manoj Goswami, who attacked Yadav with a stick, resulting in a head injury.
The local police, alerted by nearby onlookers, detained the accused and ensured Yadav received medical care. Legal action has been initiated as a video of the assault circulated on social media platforms.
