A brutal offensive in Sudan's Darfur region by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has resulted in more than 6,000 deaths over a period of just three days, according to a United Nations report released on Friday.

The RSF attack on the city of el-Fasher included a range of atrocities such as summary executions, sexual violence, abductions for ransom, and other severe human rights violations. UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk highlighted that impunity leads to repeated cycles of violence.

As the Sudanese conflict transforms into a large-scale humanitarian crisis, the United Nations and the International Criminal Court urge immediate action to maintain accountability and curb further crimes against humanity.
