A 46-year-old director of an NGO was apprehended by law enforcement after allegedly fatally stabbing a man in west Delhi amidst a financial disagreement. The altercation, which took place early Sunday, has raised alarm among local residents regarding neighborhood safety.
The deceased, identified as Harish Kandwal from Uttam Nagar, succumbed to injuries related to the incident in the Hari Nagar area, as confirmed by the police who received details from a local hospital around midnight. Following the registration of an FIR, police initiated an investigation that led to the arrest of the accused, Ashim Ali.
Ali, the director of Sai Sadhna Social Welfare Foundation, reportedly had ongoing financial disputes with the victim, both of whom were linked through NGO activities. The incident has heightened safety concerns among residents, who have raised complaints about inadequate street lighting and security, contributing to an unsafe neighborhood environment.
