In a dramatic turn of events, three inmates, including two Pakistani nationals, made a daring escape from a juvenile home in Jammu's R S Pura area on Monday. The fugitives allegedly attacked two on-duty police officers during their getaway.
The incident has spurred widespread concern after a viral video, purportedly showing one of the inmates firing inside the facility, surfaced on social media. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine how a locally-made pistol found its way into the juvenile home.
Top police officials, including J&K Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat and Inspector General of Police Bhim Sen Tuti, have visited the site. Meanwhile, former DGP S P Vaid raised questions about the security protocols at the facility, noting that all three escapees were no longer juveniles and should have been transferred elsewhere. Special police teams are currently pursuing the fugitives.
