In a tragic turn of events in Uttar Pradesh's Chandauli district, a domestic dispute over a motorcycle demand ended in alleged murder. A 24-year-old man, Sunny Kumar Maurya, is accused of strangling his 22-year-old wife, Babli Gaur, police reported on Tuesday.
The couple had been married for two-and-a-half years after meeting in college and living separately from their families in Bhishampur village. According to investigators, frequent quarrels, often fueled by alcohol, erupted over Maurya's demand for an Apache motorcycle from his father-in-law.
On Monday night, an argument intensified, leading to what police describe as an act of murder. Maurya has been arrested and is facing charges while the victim's body has been sent for a post-mortem examination, confirmed Chakia Police Station House Officer Arjun Singh.
